In a surprising move, the renowned Christian television channel, Emmanuel TV, founded by the late Prophet TB Joshua, has announced its departure from MultiChoice platforms, DStv and GOtv.
The decision, effective January 17, 2024, comes in the wake of a controversial BBC documentary exposing alleged atrocities and sexual crimes attributed to the late TB Joshua.
The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN), the church founded by TB Joshua, has also withdrawn its TV channel from other pay-TV services.
Emmanuel TV, established in 2006, gained widespread popularity and expanded its reach globally, particularly through its YouTube channel, ranking among the most subscribed Christian ministry channels.
TB Joshua’s passing in June 2021 didn’t shield him from scrutiny, as the BBC embarked on a groundbreaking investigation. The three-part series uncovered a covert lifestyle, narrating tales of rape, abuse, deception, and staged healings. Shockingly, sources claim that the church was aware of these accusations for over two decades but never addressed them.
The documentary also exposed how SCOAN concealed the truth from its members regarding the 2014 collapse of one of the church’s guesthouses. Emmanuel TV played a role in disseminating a brief film showing the incident, raising questions about the transparency of information within the church.
