In a shocking development, the Ogun State Police Command has apprehended Mr. Taiwo Yemitan in connection with ritual killings after authorities discovered a fresh human head and dismembered body parts at his home in the Lafenwa area of Abeokuta.

According to a statement released by SP Omolola Odutola, the police’s spokesperson, Yemitan was arrested early Sunday morning based on credible information from local security groups like Agbekoya and vigilante operatives.

Odutola detailed that Yemitan confessed to the murder of a woman named Darasimi, who he had enticed to his home with malicious intent. He not only admitted to the crime but also named two accomplices involved in the plan to sell the victim’s body parts.

Currently, efforts are underway to apprehend the other suspects and locate Darasimi’s family, while the remains have been sent to the General Hospital morgue in Ijaye, Abeokuta, for a post-mortem examination.

The suspect is set to be handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Eleweran, Abeokuta, for a thorough investigation. Odutola referenced a similar incident earlier in the year involving another suspect, A Adebayo, who confessed to murdering three women through deceptive arrangements.

In her statement, Odutola issued a stern warning to young women against engaging in “hookup” activities, highlighting the dangers involved, as many become victims of ritual killings. She further advised parents to be vigilant and provide comprehensive guidance to their daughters to prevent such tragedies.
