Sen. Shehu Sani, former Kaduna Central Senator, has berated the ruling party, APC, and opposition party PDP for attacking former Nigerian president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo of endorsing former Anambra state governor and LP’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

According to the Sani via his twitter handle, said; Obasanjo has made his choice. He is entitled to his opinion. He should not be attacked. Those who can’t get his endorsement should seek that of Gowon, IBB or Abdulsallam, they are equally credible former military and political leaders. Ordinary President of Berekete is also available.

Recall that APC and PDP presidential candidates visited the former Nigeria leader to seek for his endorsement but all in vail.

However, the former Nigerian leader took to his happy new year message in a letter to appeal to Nigerians in particular the youths, said the LP candidate has an edge over other contestants.

He said that APC candidate, ‘Emi Lokan’ (It’s My Turn) claim, saying such was a wrong attitude and mentality to present Nigeria’s leadership.

will be making within the next two months. The last seven and a half years have no doubt been eventful and stressful years for many Nigerians. We have moved from frying pan to fire and from mountain top to the valley.

Taking a swipe against the former president, the ruling party described his endorsement as worthless.

Also, Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Organisation says the endorsement of Mr Obi by the ex-president did not reflect the opinion or position of the overwhelming majority of Nigerians across the country.

Meanwhile, the Presidential Campaign Council of the Labour Party welcomed the endorsement of its candidate, Peter Obi and his running mate, Yusuf Datti Baba -Ahmed, by former President Olusegun Obasanjo. It said Obasanjo has as always proved himself as a unique individual who truly cares about Nigeria’s well-being now and in the future.

According to the Chief Spokesman for the LP PCC, Dr Yunusa Tanko said, “What former President Olusegun Obasanjo has just done is what we expect of true Nigerian statesmen.

“We want to thank Chief Obasanjo for speaking up in favour of one United Nigeria where every citizen irrespective of ethnicity, the religion of political affiliation will be given a sense of belonging.
