The Federal Government has criticized Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, for “inciting people to violence over the outcome of the presidential elections,” according to the news today.

It’s unfortunate that the Federal Government doesn’t talk about Musiliu Akinsanya, more commonly known as MC Oluomo, and others who openly incited violence during the elections.

When a constituted authority such as Nigeria views prominent opinions and freedom of speech such as the Obi’s as inciting violence, it is annoying.

Using the internet to harass Obi, regardless of who or what platform it uses, is considered cyberstalking by the Federal Government.

Cyberstalking is more than just someone using the internet to bully someone else. There are numerous types of cyberstalking, including those in which the victim is subjected to harassment, shame, and humiliation, just like Obi is the target of the Federal Government.

What else is cyberstalking other than a technological “attack” on a single individual, like Obi, who has been specifically targeted for that attack for reasons of rage, retaliation, or control for speaking out against the alleged ills of the presidential elections in 2023?
