The Emir of Kano, Lamido Muhammad Sanusi II, has issued a stern warning against those planning to cause unrest in Kano State.

In a heartfelt appeal, the Emir urged residents to maintain peace and avoid violence amidst the ongoing leadership dispute.

Emir Sanusi emphasized that the battle against those instigating violence is a divine one, and he prayed that such individuals would face the consequences of their actions. He called for God’s protection over the peaceful residents and invoked divine retribution against those who wish to create chaos in Kano.

The Emir’s declaration came in response to the Appeal Court’s verdict on January 10, 2025, which ordered the Chief Judge of Kano to assign a new judge to review the case involving the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, the Kano State Government, and the 16th Emir, Muhammad Sanusi II, along with the Kano State Assembly.

“This battle is not ours but God’s. And God does not need anyone’s help. Let us keep praying for His guidance and intervention. May God protect us, and whoever seeks to ignite chaos in Kano, may that fire consume them instead,” Sanusi stated.

He further added, “To those who wish harm upon Kano or its peace, may they face the consequences of their own wishes. They may attempt to provoke violence, but let us not respond to their actions. Let us not engage them in any way. Whoever questions God’s judgment will ultimately face the consequences of doing so.”

The Emir’s message is a call for unity and peace in the face of adversity, urging the people of Kano to stand together and trust in divine justice.
