The Ogun State Police Command’s SWAT unit has arrested three men—Oladimeji Olanirn (40), Isaiah Tijani (38), and Sunday Akintobi (36)—in connection with suspected ritual killings and the possession of human body parts.
Police spokesperson CSP Omolola Odutola disclosed that the operation began with the arrest of Sunday Akintobi on April 22, 2025, in the Itoku area, following credible intelligence. His arrest led authorities to further apprehend the two other suspects in the Kobape area.
During the subsequent investigation, police uncovered body parts believed to be human remains, including cerebral bones. Disturbingly, some of these were found at a location masquerading as a Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Kobape and along Abiola Way in Abeokuta.
These shocking discoveries have intensified concerns over the trio’s possible involvement in ritual killings.
Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, has ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to carry out an in-depth probe to fully uncover the extent of the suspects’ activities.
The police are urging the public to avoid shielding criminal elements and to share timely and reliable information with law enforcement agencies. Such cooperation, they noted, is vital in the fight against ritual-related crimes and other violent offenses in the state.
