President Bola Tinubu has departed Abuja for a 10-day annual vacation in Europe, according to his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

The leave, which began on Thursday, will be spent in France and the United Kingdom.

This break comes less than a week after Tinubu returned from a state visit to Brazil, where he held high-level talks with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and other senior officials. During the three-day visit, both nations signed five Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) spanning aviation, foreign affairs, science and technology, and agriculture. Tinubu also engaged with investors and members of the Nigerian diaspora.

The president’s latest European trip follows a similar extended stay in Paris and London earlier in April, which sparked mixed reactions among Nigerians. At the time, the presidency said the trip was to assess the administration’s midterm achievements.

Since taking office on May 29, 2023, President Tinubu has embarked on over 30 international trips, involving both diplomatic missions and personal visits.
