President Bola Tinubu, in response to the accidental airstrike in Kaduna, characterized the incident as a tragic event designed by God.

Tinubu’s statement, made during his visit to the Shehu of Borno, has drawn criticism for what some perceive as mocking the victims.

NN News Media recall that the accidental bombing occurred during the celebration of Maulud Nabir in Tundun Biri, resulting in the death of 126 people.

But despite widespread outrage and calls for accountability, Tinubu’s attribution of the tragedy to divine design has added to the controversy surrounding the incident.

Tinubu, acknowledging the loss of life during the celebration of Maulud Nabir, described it as a tragic event designed by God.

This statement aligns with similar sentiments expressed by Vice President Kashim Shettima and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, urging the country to move on despite the innocent lives lost.

The accidental airstrike occurred a week prior, resulting in the death of 126 people celebrating Maulud. Tinubu, who ordered a probe into the incident, faced criticism from outraged Nigerians.

A resident of Tudun Biri, Idris Dahiru, narrated how two bombs were dropped on the village, with the second causing additional casualties among those attempting to rescue the injured from the initial bombing.

The incident is the latest in a series of accidental bombings by the Nigerian Army, including an attack in Niger State in 2021 and another in January 2023, both resulting in civilian casualties.
