President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has left the United Kingdom for Paris, France, where he is scheduled to attend an important engagement.
The announcement was made by his Senior Special Assistant on Political and Other Matters, Ibrahim Kabir Masari.
In a post on his verified X account, Masari shared that he had the privilege of meeting with President Tinubu at his residence in the UK prior to their departure, emphasizing their productive discussions.
He stated, “Today, I had the honor of visiting President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR at his private residence in the United Kingdom, where we engaged in productive discussions. We then departed for Paris, France, for another important engagement.” However, specifics regarding this upcoming engagement remain undisclosed.
Tinubu initially departed Nigeria on October 2 for a working vacation meant for reflection on his economic reforms amid Nigeria’s ongoing economic challenges.
Critics have expressed concern over his travel during this period of hardship for many Nigerians, with rising food prices and unemployment being pressing issues. Despite the backlash, the presidency clarified that Tinubu is free to travel as he pleases during his leave. His spokesperson emphasized that this time away is essential for the President to gather insights and strategize for Nigeria’s future
