Aisha Yesufu, a human right advocates and member of the Labour Party presidential campaign council, has said she would never recognise President Bola Tinubu as her president, despite the affirmation of his victory by the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed all the appeals of the presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, and that of the Labour Party which challenged Mr Tinubu’s victory at the polls.

The seven-man panel of the apex court, led by Justice John Okoro, said the petition filed by the opposition parties lacks merit, despite evidence of election malpractice and INEC violating its own law by not transmitting presidential election result in real time as promised Nigerians. Also, there is allegation of forgery, drug trafficking, money laundering Tinubu committed in the United States of American, but the court find no merit in all of this.

Reacting to the verdict on her X hhandle, Mrs Yesufu, who is the co-convener of the #BringBackOurGirls campaign, said: “Let me repeat, Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not my President.”

The tweet has, however, stirred mixed reactions from some Nigerians who flooded her comments section.

A former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, wrote, ‘Haba Aunty Aisha.
