The wife of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Patience Umo Eno, has sadly passed away after a brief illness.

The heartbreaking news was conveyed by the State Commissioner for Information, Ini Ememobong, in a press release on Friday morning. According to New Telegraph, Eno peacefully departed on Thursday, September 26, 2024, surrounded by her family at a hospital, marking a profound loss for the state and her loved ones.

The official statement, titled “Unexpected Sunset,” confirmed her passing and expressed the deep sorrow felt by the first family. It read, “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the Wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, following an illness.”

The family has requested prayers and support during this difficult time and has asked for privacy as they mourn their loss.

Despite this personal tragedy, Governor Umo Eno reassured the people of Akwa Ibom that his commitment to public service remains steadfast. Further details regarding funeral arrangements will be shared by the family in due course.
