Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has underscored the necessity of boosting budgetary provisions not only for the expansion of Army Barracks but also for the welfare of military personnel, their families, and dependents.

During a visit by the House of Representatives Committee on Army, he urged for increased support to enhance the defense capabilities of the State.

In a meeting with the House of Representatives Committee on Army, Governor Uzodimma stressed the critical need for adequate funding to ensure the effective defense of Imo State. He emphasized that prioritizing the welfare of the military is vital for sustaining democracy in Nigeria. The Governor welcomed the Committee and encouraged them to address the challenges faced by the Army in the State.

Governor Uzodimma highlighted the recent security threats faced by the Army in Imo State and the South East, including banditry, kidnapping, and oil theft. He called for the assistance of the Nigerian Army to combat these challenges and support the families of fallen military personnel. The Governor emphasized the importance of government support for the welfare of orphans, widows, and dependents left behind by the brave soldiers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
