The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has vowed never to apply for citizenship in any other country.

The former governor of Anambra State said this when he appeared on Arise Television.

While speaking on the issue of honorary citizenship in Dallas, Texas that was conferred on him in 2022, Obi described it as nothing, adding that it was mere recognition which do not in anyway grants him automatic visa to the United States.

He said, “My honorary citizenship in Dallas, Texas means ‘nothing’. It doesn’t even grant me Visa-free entry to the United States. I have never and I will never apply for citizenship in any other country. I am a Nigerian who believes in Nigeria”
