A Yoruba community in Jushi Waje, located in the Sabon Gari local government area of Kaduna State, has experienced violent unrest, with numerous homes destroyed by local youths.

This turmoil follows the death of a Hausa boy who was caught trespassing in a Yoruba woman’s residence.

The conflict began on Sunday, September 29, and intensified through Tuesday, October 1.

Reports indicate that the crisis ignited after the Hausa boy was apprehended while allegedly stealing from the Yoruba woman’s home.

Following his capture, he was beaten by members of the Yoruba community and later taken to the Sarkin’s palace, where he tragically died after requesting water.

Witnesses recounted that after his death, Hausa youths mobilized and retaliated by attacking Yoruba properties, leading to widespread destruction of homes and vehicles.

One affected resident shared their harrowing experience: “Alhamdulillah, I narrowly escaped death; the only loss I suffered was my glass windows. I am now displaced from my home and seek your prayers and support for my family.
