If there are knowledge icons in the world, Dr Eberechukwu Uneze, a former Executive Director at Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) will be at the top of the list.

Dr Uneze, who just turned 50 in June this year, is the perfect portrait of a pragmatic intellectual who personifies knowledge.

After acquiring a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Imo State University, a Master’s degree in Economic Management and Policy from the University of Strathclyde, and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Kent, Dr Uneze was not done.

He wanted to be a leader and sought to acquire the right knowledge through executive programs at renowned global institutions in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Italy, France and Switzerland.

Dr Uneze, who hails from Amakohia Ubi, Owerri West LGA, Imo State, attended 23 world-class institutions where he studied and acquired certificates in Global Executive Leadership, Social Business, Board Leadership, Impact Investment and the Effective Use of Power, among others.

He has also received professional training from institutions such as: the Lagos Business School; Institute of Directors (IOD), London, UK; International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie), Manila, Philippines; The Evaluators’ Institute, George Washington University, United States and Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), Accra, Ghana.

He has worked in the private and public sectors where he helped to build capacities as consultant and trainer.

He has published more than 30 articles and other publications, and is widely recognised as one of the development thinkers in Africa.

He is a regular contributor to international policy seminars on Africa’s progress and prosperity.

He has attended approximately 50 conferences worldwide and is a member of several prestigious institutes and organizations in Nigeria and overseas.

He is a Nigerian economist with a global footprint who’s inspiring a generation of youths to excellence. He is a motivation to those who aspire to conquer the world through knowledge and skills.
