Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf appointed 21 new permanent secretaries and 14 special advisers, asserting that the selections were based on merit and devoid of political influence.

Addressing the appointees, the Governor emphasized the need for dedication, competence, and a commitment to service, highlighting the administration’s zero tolerance for incompetence and misuse of office.

During the ceremony, Governor Yusuf outlined the administration’s commitment to ushering in a new era of progress and hope for Kano State. He urged the newly appointed officials to prioritize their roles in contributing to the betterment of the state and society.

“We selected the best in competence, experience, dedication to duty, and proven fear of God. That is why we are expecting you to perform to the optimal high point for a better Kano,” stated Governor Yusuf.

He emphasized the significance of maintaining decorum and professionalism in their duties, reminding the appointees that their roles are crucial in the new dispensation of the NNPP. The Governor encouraged them to view their appointments as valuable contributions to the state’s development.

“While I acknowledge that, as humans, you are bound to make mistakes, you have to be extra careful with the oath you have taken,” Governor Yusuf cautioned. He advised against allowing political considerations to influence their responsibilities, urging them to eschew hypocrisy and gossip in the discharge of their duties.

“Politics should not be a yardstick for carrying out your duties. You should be free and do away with hypocrisy and gossiping; if you accurately discharge your duties, the sky will be your limit in life,” concluded Governor Yusuf.
