Bandits terrorising Kaduna State on Monday night capitalised on downpour and abducted yet to be ascertained several residents of Keke community of Millennium City, Chikun local government area of the state.

It was gathered that the attack happened around 9:00 pm on Monday when many residents were still in their homes from their work and business places due to cloudy weather.

The Millennium City is an emerging social and commercial community where a 300-bed multi-function hospital low housing scheme is being built by the Kaduna State government.

Sources within the troubled community who spoke in confidence hinted that “the kidnappers came arou9:00 pm0pm during that rain.

“So, people were not alerted early enough, because the rain was heavy and suspicious.

“By the time they left, many residents were missing indicating that they may have been kidnapped. Most of the people kidnapped were just returning home during the attack and they just ran into the bandits”, the source said.

As of the time of filing this report, no official statement from both the Kaduna State Police Command and Kaduna State Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs regarding the development.
