APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, details of drug trafficking across the globe are gradually surfacing.

According to recent reports, Guinea Conakry has become the cocaine hub of Africa, and journalist David Hundeyin has confirmed that Bola Ahmed Tinubu holds dual citizenship from the country.

The details of Tinubu’s international passport prove that he is a citizen of both Nigeria and Guinea Conakry.

However, under the Nigerian constitution, a president cannot hold citizenship in another country voluntarily, which means Tinubu would be disqualified from running for president of Nigeria.

The increase in the global supply of cocaine has been reflected in the UN Office on Drugs and Crime’s Global Cocaine Report 2023, but it’s unclear whether this is due to improved law enforcement seizure measures or increased demand for psychotropic drugs.

Nevertheless, the report shows that Guinea-Bissau is no longer the African drug epicenter, as the continent’s western region, with countries like Senegal, Guinea, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Benin, and Nigeria, has become a transit zone for cocaine being transported from the Americas to Asia.

Moreover, government officials in Guinea have confessed to participating in the lucrative international cocaine trade run by a military junta that seized power recently, offering insight into how drug dollars can corrupt officials and destabilize countries.

The UN report estimates that at least 46 tons of cocaine have been seized en route to Europe via West Africa since 2005, bringing profits that sometimes exceed the entire defense budgets of countries it passes through.
