The Berom Educational and Cultura Organisation (BECO), is greatly saddened by the resurgence of targeted fulani terror attacks on villagers in ambush fashion. While we recall with pain the loss of our vibrant youths who were ambushed in Rawuru, Fan and Tapo in Heipang attacks were launched on Wereng and Turu, in Riyom and Vwang districts. This is unfortunate and much against the trend of expectation.

While we mourn these victims, it is very imperative to raise the standard of caution and proactive alertness of our people, especially in villages, it is necessary we note that the aim of the enemy, which is total annihilation and takeover of the land.

In this case complacency is completely out of the question. For us to enjoy freedom we must ensure eternal vigilance. We urge all to be on red alert and combat ready.

Towards this end it’s resolved that from now until further notice, there shall be no movement of people within or across our villages after 6:30 pm. There shall be no exception to the observance of this directive. All our vigilante groups, Hunters and Forestry guards are being directed to ensure total enforcement of the directive. We must, at all costs, step up our readiness to combat the resurging chilling bestialities. In God we are well able.

Da Chollom Gyang

Secretary General
