A concerned member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Obiejesi Nkalu, has alleged hidden plans by a group loyal to a former governorship aspirant in Anambra State to install Labour Party (LP) loyalists into APGA’s national leadership.

According to him, the goal is to get the ball rolling during the May 31, 2023 APGA Convention in order to stop Governor Chukwuma Soludo from getting a second term during the 2025 governorship election in the state.

He said: “The former governorship aspirant wants his brother from Aguata to be the national chairman of APGA to actualise the plot.

“The purpose is for them to use him to work against Soludo in 2025 Anambra Guber poll. Their candidate for national chairmanship of APGA voted for the Labour Party all through the last general elections.

“Their sponsor is likely to be the LP governorship candidate in the 2025 poll. So their plan is to create confusion in APGA so that Soludo will find it difficult to secure APGA ticket in that year’s election.

“A former National Assembly from Nnewi on the platform of the PDP who pretends to be a member of APGA is perfecting the plot.

“One infant terrible from the Omambala area is working with them in this plot to undo Soludo, but they won’t succeed.

“We believe that the delegates in the tomorrow’s (Wednesday, May 31, 2023) convention are wise enough to take the right decision to save APGA.”

Nkalu advised that “Soludo should decamp to APC immediately,” adding:

“I have not heard much news from our brothers, Dave Umahi and Wike, they must be alright by now.

“Let his good works speak for him, if he performs well, Ndi Anambra will willingly vote for him for the second tenure. Infrastructural wise, we are yet to see anything here in Onitsha. Meanwhile, the bulk of the state revenue is coming from here. He needs to buckle up.”
