Plateau State Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has approved the constitution of a Task Force on Recovery of Purported Auctioned Government Property by the immediate past administration in the state.

Secretary to the State Government, Architect Samuel N. Jatau, in a statement issued on Tuesday, in Jos, the State capital, and made available to DAILY INDEPENDENT, said a nine-man taskforce committee is to be chaired by Isaac Wadak a retired Permanent secretary while Barr Pam Gyang Davou is to serve as Taskforce Secretary.

Other members of the task force are, David Zoyong, Akims Mamot, Barr. Damian Shekarau, Nura Shehu, Mr. Raymond Dangrem, Representative Commissioner Of Police, Mr. Nantip Bedu and Barr. Pam Gyang Davou-Secretary.

The Plateau State SSG said the task force will be guided by the terms of reference which are to identify or trace all government properties that were purportedly auctioned across the country and as well ascertain whether or not due process was adhered to in the exercise.

Other terms of reference were that the task force should recover all government assets that were purportedly /or inappropriately acquired by individuals/groups/or corporate entities and give any other recommendation that will lead to the recovery of government assets and safeguard future occurrences.

The Task Force, the SSG said, has six weeks to complete the assignment.
