The Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Yusuf Bichi, announced during the graduation ceremony of the Executive Intelligence Management Course (EIMC) 16 participants in Abuja that the security agency will start using locally produced weapons for its operations.
Bichi mentioned that the DSS will soon unveil Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) among the weapons produced by its personnel. He emphasized the agency’s commitment to self-sufficiency, stating that the DSS will begin to produce its own equipment, NN News Media reports.
During an event, Bichi, a representative of an agency, reiterated their commitment to supporting the National Institute for Security Studies in enhancing the country’s security through knowledge dissemination.
He stressed the importance of using the acquired skills for national development and urged citizens to reject those who aim to destabilize the country.
The Executive Intelligence Management Course (EIMC) 16 commenced in February 2023, with a total of 89 participants hailing from 35 agencies
The Executive Intelligence Management Course 16, which began in February 2023 with 89 participants from various agencies across Nigeria and four other African countries, namely Niger, the Gambia, Rwanda, and Chad., saw three fatalities, with 86 participants successfully graduating.
Nigeria’s Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, was also present at the event.
