In a remarkable move towards community prosperity, the revered Obi of Ogwashi-Uku in Delta State has embarked on an extraordinary initiative, kickstarting a grand wealth transfer for the sons and daughters of the Ogwashi-Uku Kingdom in Aniocha South Local Government Area.
His Majesty, the Obi, has initiated the allocation of free plots of land, each valued in the millions of Naira, to hundreds of deserving indigenes. This benevolent act comes after a concerted effort over the past four years to reclaim illegally sold lands within the kingdom, reinforcing the significance of land as a crucial source of wealth for the people of Ogwashi-Uku.
The Palace Secretary, Prince Ifeakanachukwu Emordi, stated in a released announcement, “His Majesty has moved to consolidate land already won through the courts and in his custody. By the authority vested in the Obi as the Custodian, Trustee, and Overlord of all land in the Kingdom, his Majesty wishes to announce that each son or daughter who is an indigene will be allocated a plot of land in the Royal Reserved Area and other areas recovered by the Obi of Ogwashi-Uku.”
Approximately 1200 hectares of land have been successfully recovered across the Kingdom, marking a significant milestone in reclaiming the community’s heritage. The monarch’s intent is not just to secure the land but to give back generously to the sons and daughters of Adaigbo. These plots of land, conservatively worth millions of Naira each, promise immediate wealth transfer and empowerment for each recipient.
The allocation process operates on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limited number of applications to be processed and approved.
This strategic move by the Obi of Ogwashi-Uku has garnered praise from various quarters, including a congratulatory message from Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Director General of the World Trade Organization.
She commended His Majesty for the successful recovery of 1200 hectares of illegally sold community land and applauded his visionary plan to distribute the reclaimed land freely to indigenes.
The ripple effect of this initiative is poised to transform the lives of the people of Ogwashi-Uku, ushering in a new era of prosperity and empowerment.
