The Plateau State Police Command has officially acknowledged the apprehension of multiple suspects linked to the tragic events that unfolded in Barkin Ladi and Bokkos Local Government Areas on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2023.

This announcement was made by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Alfred Alabo, during a statement given to Leadership in Jos, the state capital, on Thursday night.

While providing initial information, the Police spokesperson refrained from divulging specific details regarding the arrests, assuring the public that a formal statement would be released this Friday.

The horrifying incident, which commenced on Christmas Eve and persisted through Christmas Day, resulted in over 200 casualties, the displacement of thousands, and the destruction of numerous homes across the two local councils.

The assault, believed to be orchestrated by suspected terrorist groups resembling bandits, had previously targeted various communities, causing widespread devastation and loss of life.

The aftermath of these heinous acts has sparked a wave of reactions from various quarters, with security forces intensifying efforts to prevent further attacks.

The ongoing investigations and subsequent developments in the case will be closely monitored as authorities work towards bringing justice to the victims and their families.
