Elon Musk on Thursday said that video and audio calls are coming to his X social media platform.

Musk announced in a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, that calls would work “on iOS, Android, Mac & PC,” there would be “no phone number needed” for them and that the platform would be “the effective global address book.”

Musk’s announcement comes after X announced Wednesday it will be collecting biometric data and information on users’ employment and education history starting Sep. 29. X also announced on Tuesday it will allow political advertisements on the website for the first time since 2019.

Musk acquired the platform in October 2022 and has said he has plans for it to become his “everything app.” X CEO Linda Yaccarino has also talked about the expansion of the platform’s services to “audio, video, messaging, payments/banking.”

“Twitter made one massive impression and changed the way we communicate,” Yaccarino said in a thread on X last month. “Now, X will go further, transforming the global town square.”
