Obi recalled attending Chief Anyaoku’s 80th birthday at the Commonwealth Headquarters in London, emphasizing the significance of the occasion. The 91st celebration included the inauguration of the Emeka and Bunmi Anyaoku Foundation Centre, featuring a library and museum stocked with books and historical materials to promote education—a quality Obi believes is lacking among today’s Nigerian leaders.
Chief Anyaoku, hailed as a quintessential diplomat and exemplary global ambassador, has consistently championed truth, peace, unity, and the embrace of Nigeria’s cultural diversity. His unwavering advocacy for good governance, increased investment in health and education, and concerted efforts against insecurity has earned him admiration.
Expressing deep honor for Chief Anyaoku’s meritorious diplomatic service to Nigeria within the Commonwealth of Nations, Obi hopes the Emeka and Bunmi Anyaoku Foundation Centre will nurture a new generation of leaders dedicated to upholding democratic ideals.
