Former speakers of the Abia State House of Assembly convened over the weekend, expressing their profound admiration for Governor Alex Otti’s remarkable accomplishments within just nine months in office.
They pledged unwavering support to Governor Otti and his administration recognizing its remarkable performance that surpassed the PDP’s 24-year tenure in the state.

Among the delegation were prominent figures such as Stanley Ohajuruka, Arua Arunsi, Agwu U. Agwu, Christopher Enweremadu, Martins Azubuike, Chikwendu Kalu, and Ude Okochukwu, the immediate past Deputy Governor of the State.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Stanley Ohajuruka affirmed their recognition of Otti’s accomplishments and their readiness to provide counsel and cooperation essential for enhancing governance in the State.

In response, Governor Otti expressed gratitude for the group’s endorsement and acknowledged their validation of his administration’s endeavors in the State. He emphasized his commitment to service and stewardship, underscoring the importance of close engagement with the people and rigorous oversight of ongoing projects to ensure quality outcomes.
“The era of political contests has passed, giving way to the imperative of governance. My focus is on restoring the dignity of our people and fostering an environment conducive to economic prosperity,” Otti elucidated.
Lamenting the departure of numerous private enterprises from the State in previous years, Governor Otti outlined his administration’s concerted efforts to attract investments and revitalize the economy. He highlighted the imminent return of Pfizer, an international pharmaceutical giant, to Abia as a testament to their endeavors, expressing optimism about the ensuing job creation and positive economic impact.
The convergence of former speakers not only signifies a unified acknowledgment of Otti’s achievements but also heralds a collaborative endeavor towards advancing the welfare and prosperity of the people of Abia State.
