At a recent conference in Abuja, Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party’s presidential candidate, addressed a journalist’s query about his educational policies during his eight-year governorship in Anambra.
Obi’s primary focus was on elevating the standard of living and education in Anambra. His efforts resulted in Anambra’s impressive leap from 26th to the top in the national ranking.
In a press conference, Obi expressed, “My primary objective was to enhance the overall quality of life for the people of Anambra. I made sure that schools were provided with the necessary resources, which led to a significant improvement in the well-being of the people. This was the essence of my manifesto.”
Additionally, Obi underscored the significant progress made in the education sector during his tenure. He noted that Anambra, which was ranked 26th nationally when he took office, had climbed to the top by the end of his term. He stressed his commitment to reviving the state’s struggling educational system.
Although his comments was monitored by NN News Media, Obi did not make the statement, why he did not build schools during his tenure, nor did he mention the comparison of building new schools to coastal lines when internal roads are impassable. These statements were suggested by the media houses to counter false allegations against Peter Obi.
