In a major boost for Nigeria’s aviation industry, Air Peace has received the green light to start operating flights from Abuja to London.

This route expansion is a key part of the airline’s growth strategy and marks a significant milestone in improving global connectivity for passengers, as reported by NjenjeMediaNews.

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, confirmed the approval during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today. He announced, “Air Peace has been authorized to include Abuja in its London route,” underlining the government’s backing for measures that strengthen Nigeria’s air travel infrastructure.

Earlier, Air Peace had successfully inaugurated Lagos-Gatwick flights, earning praise from passengers and demonstrating the airline’s dedication to offering dependable and convenient travel solutions. The launch of the Lagos-London route by Air Peace led to a revision in fare prices by competing airlines, indicating the competitive nature of the industry.

Allen Onyema, the driving force behind Air Peace, has been a staunch advocate for the progress of Nigeria’s aviation sector. He recently voiced concerns over fare pricing and hinted at an international plot influencing fare structures.

The sanction for the Abuja-London flights is a strategic decision by Air Peace to meet the rising demand for international travel, especially from Abuja, the capital city. This move is anticipated to stimulate tourism, commerce, and cultural interactions between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

As Air Peace gears up to extend its services on the Abuja-London route, travelers can expect better connectivity, superior travel experiences, and more choices for international flights. The airline’s ongoing efforts to expand its route network are in line with the government’s ambition of establishing Nigeria as a central hub for air travel in West Africa.
