Lucy Ugwu, known as Nkiruka Nistoran, the publisher of NN News Media, relayed a cautionary message from Maryanne Moghalu via her X handle, highlighting the potential perils of investing in Lagos.

Maryanne Moghalu, the spouse of Kingsley Moghalu, the erstwhile presidential candidate of the Young Progressive Party, sounded an alarm for investors considering Lagos State, citing escalating business security issues in the wake of recent demolitions.

Lucy, however, firmly declared her refusal to invest in Lagos or any region in the southwest, even if she were to be offered land for free. She pledged to keep her financial investments within the old eastern region. She expressed her belief that the 2023 elections have laid bare the true state of affairs. She also revealed her plans for substantial investments in the expansion of NN News Media offices across the region.

In her words, “They have tried to persuade me to invest in Lagos, but my response has always been the same. Even if they were to offer me land in Lagos or anywhere in the southwest for free, not a penny of mine will leave the old eastern region! The 2023 election has truly unmasked them.”
