In a crucial State Executive Council meeting, Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State announced the approval of the Trans Kalabari Road project, one of the administration’s signature initiatives.

The project, which will be funded through the state’s internally generated revenue, is expected to be completed within 32 months.

Connecting the Kalabari People

The Trans Kalabari Road is a notable project as it aims to provide a direct connection between the Kalabari axis and Port Harcourt, eliminating the need to travel through the East-West Road. This strategic move will significantly improve accessibility and connectivity for the Kalabari people.

Rigorous Evaluation and Approval

The project has undergone a rigorous evaluation process and has been approved by the Bureau of Public Procurement. This ensures that the project meets the necessary standards and requirements for a project of such critical importance.

Challenging Terrain

The Trans Kalabari Road will traverse through challenging terrain to reach the heart of Kalabari land. Despite the difficulties posed by the terrain, the project is expected to have a significant impact on the lives of the Kalabari people, providing them with better access to essential services and economic opportunities.

Funding from Internally Generated Revenue

The Trans Kalabari Road project will be funded entirely through the state’s internally generated revenue, demonstrating the government’s commitment to investing in infrastructure development and improving the lives of its citizens.
