Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party’s presidential nominee, expressed his condolences to Tijiani Babangida, a former Super Eagles player, through his social media account.

Babangida recently suffered a devastating loss due to a fatal car accident in Kaduna last month.

The accident claimed the lives of Babangida’s son and younger brother, Ibrahim Babangida, a former Under 17 World Champion. His wife also sustained injuries in the tragic event. Obi offered words of encouragement, urging Babangida to remain hopeful and trust in the divine plan of God Almighty.

As a sports enthusiast, Obi emphasized the importance of supporting our sports heroes who have brought joy and national pride through their talents. He expressed his delight in learning that Babangida’s colleagues, including Emmanuel Babayero, a former Atlanta 96 Olympic football medalist, were standing in solidarity with him.

Obi concluded his visit by praying for a swift recovery for Babangida and his wife, and for eternal peace for the departed souls.
