In a surprising turn of events, a man hired to hold a “No Protest” placard in support of President Bola Tinubu ended up voicing his own grievances against the government, particularly regarding the widespread hunger and hardship in Nigeria.

The protester, who took to the streets of Abuja, initially intended to protest against those planning demonstrations against the government. However, during a live interview with AIT news, he began to criticize the current administration for the severe economic difficulties citizens are facing.

“Holding N1000 now won’t even cover the cost of drinking garri. Before, with just N100 you could manage,” he lamented. “We are here to let him know that things are very hard for us. He should consider our plight.”

This outburst did not sit well with his fellow “No Protest” supporters, who quickly pushed him away and attempted to stop the interview from continuing.

In a separate interview, another government-sponsored protester in Abuja echoed similar concerns. Pleading with President Tinubu, he highlighted the intense levels of hunger and poverty in the city, imploring the government to address the escalating hardship.
