Enugu protesters criticize President Tinubu for extravagant spending on a presidential yacht, new jet, and a luxurious vice presidential lounge, while urging Nigerians to be patient despite severe hardships and rising fuel prices.

In Enugu State, hunger protesters assert their constitutional right to demonstrate, despite attempts to silence them.

One protester highlighted the irony of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s stance, noting that Tinubu himself was once a vocal protester during both the military regime and under former President Goodluck Jonathan.

The protesters question Tinubu’s shift in position, pointing out that he criticized Jonathan’s administration after just seven months in office. Now, they ask why he expects a year of support from Nigerians without question.

The demonstrators argue that Nigerians are facing severe hardship, with fuel prices soaring from 700 to 900 naira per liter. They decry rampant corruption, contrasting it with extravagant government spending on items like a multi-billion naira presidential yacht, a new jet, and a luxurious vice presidential lounge.

Their message is clear: they will not be silenced and will continue to demand better living conditions and accountability from their leaders.
