In a recent development, the Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has publicly released the photo of a Nigerian woman who made threatening remarks against her fellow Nigerians residing in Canada.
The woman, identified as Amaka Patience Sunnberger, was heard in a viral audio clip threatening to poison and kill other Nigerians, particularly those of Yoruba descent.
The incident occurred during a discussion on a TikTok space where Sunnberger, who resides in Ontario, expressed her intent to start poisoning the meals of her Yoruba colleagues at work. Her comments were rooted in a belief that other tribes have marginalized the Igbo people and that it was time for them to be eradicated.
Following the widespread outrage sparked by the audio clip, Ms. Dabiri-Erewa announced that Sunnberger has deleted her TikTok account. However, a group of Nigerians in Canada is taking formal action by reporting her to the Canadian authorities.
Ms. Dabiri-Erewa shared the photo of Sunnberger via her official social media handle, stating: “This is the picture of the lady behind the voice. Amaka Patience Sunnberger. She has deleted her TikTok account and a group of Nigerians in Canada are reporting her officially to the relevant authorities in Canada. Thanks for alerting everyone.”
