Valentine Ozigbo, a Labour Party governorship hopeful in Anambra State, has urged citizens to vote against re-electing Governor Chukwuma Soludo in the 2025 elections.
Ozigbo warned that granting Soludo a second term would destabilize the state, pointing to the worsening security situation that leaves residents living in constant fear.
Ozigbo accused Soludo of manipulating the state’s House of Assembly to pass laws aimed at crippling opposition parties ahead of the local government elections. In a statement posted on his X handle on Saturday, Ozigbo called on the Labour Party to remain determined and field candidates in these elections.
He criticized Governor Soludo for allegedly pushing through amendments to the Anambra Electoral Act to enable election rigging and install his loyalists. Ozigbo emphasized the need to challenge these actions and urged citizens to reject Soludo’s bid for re-election, stating, “The Governor does not deserve another chance, and we will continue to counter his schemes at every turn.”
