The All-Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged victorious in Saturday’s local council elections in Kebbi State, as declared by the Kebbi State Independent Electoral Commission (KESIEC).

Aliyu Muhammad-Mera, the commission’s Chairman, announced on Sunday in Birnin Kebbi that the APC won all 21 Chairmanship positions and secured all 225 Ward Councillor seats across the state.

Seventeen political parties participated in the polls, including the APC, NNPP, LP, AAC, Boot Party, AP, and SDP, among others. The commission ratified the chairmanship results for all Local Government Areas as announced by the respective councils’ Returning Officers, as well as the councillorship results declared at the ward level.

Muhammad-Mera praised the peaceful and orderly conduct of the elections, commending the security agencies and stakeholders for their support.

Meanwhile, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) boycotted the elections, alleging that the KESIEC Chairman and his commissioners were affiliated with the APC, raising concerns about the fairness of the process towards opposition parties.
