Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has issued a stern warning to the All Progressives Congress (APC) regarding attempts to manipulate the upcoming governorship election in Edo State.

As the election day approaches on Saturday, September 21, Atiku, accompanied by fellow Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders, urged Edo residents to remain vigilant and protect their votes.

Atiku’s remarks were made during the PDP’s final campaign rally in Ekenwan, Edo State. He emphasized that Edo is not like Lagos, where he claims the APC has historically been able to execute electoral fraud. Atiku’s comments were aimed at bolstering the confidence of Edo voters and urging them to safeguard their votes against any potential rigging.

Reflecting on past elections, Atiku reminded the audience of previous threats against the PDP’s success in Edo State, stating, “They said they wouldn’t allow us to win in Edo State. But we proved them wrong. This time, we will show them once again that ‘Edo no be Lagos.’ They can’t steal votes here. Protect, defend, and escort your votes.”

With the gubernatorial election just around the corner, Atiku called on Edo voters to ensure their votes are properly recorded and results accurately announced. The key candidates in the race include Asue Ighodalo of the PDP, Monday Okpebholo from the APC, and Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party (LP).
