Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of Okezie Mba, the renowned Ogene musician popularly known as Igbo-Jah.

In a heartfelt statement, Governor Mbah described Mba’s passing as a significant loss, not only to the people of Enugu but to the Igbo community as a whole.

“I received with a deep sense of grief the untimely death of Okezie Mba, popularly known as Igbo-Jah, under such tragic circumstances,” Governor Mbah stated. “His contribution to the promotion of Igbo culture through his Ogene music has been invaluable, and his loss is deeply felt among us as Ndi Enugu and within the broader Igbo community.”

The governor shared that he has been briefed by the police and has instructed a thorough investigation to ensure justice for Igbo-Jah, his family, and his fans worldwide.

“On behalf of Ndi Enugu, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family and supporters. May God grant his soul eternal peace,” Governor Mbah added.
