Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State has confirmed that the minimum monthly wage for workers in the state will stand at ₦70,000, even after deductions for union dues, taxes, and other charges.

Soludo clarified that while gross earnings could range from ₦78,000 to ₦84,000 depending on specific deductions, the final take-home pay will not dip below ₦70,000.

During a recent meeting with state labor leaders at the Governor’s Lodge in Amawbia, Soludo explained the decision, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to a consistent minimum wage. “We’ve approved the proposal from Organised Labour, ensuring that after all deductions, no worker takes home less than ₦70,000,” he stated.

This move reaffirms the state’s commitment to fair pay and transparency for its workforce, solidifying Anambra’s position as a worker-friendly state.
