President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to participate in the Joint Arab-Islamic Summit scheduled to begin on Monday, November 11, 2024.

Tinubu departed Abuja on Sunday to attend the Joint Arab-Islamic Summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, set to address pressing issues in the Middle East.

This information was shared in a Saturday statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, who noted that Tinubu was invited by King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to participate in the summit, which begins Monday, November 11, 2024.

According to the statement, Tinubu is expected to speak on the escalating Israel-Palestine conflict, reaffirming Nigeria’s call for an immediate ceasefire and emphasizing the need for a peaceful resolution. The Nigerian delegation will advocate for renewed efforts toward a two-state solution as the basis for lasting peace in the region.

Joining President Tinubu in Riyadh are top officials including Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, Minister of Information and National Orientation Alhaji Mohammed Idris, and Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) Amb. Mohammed Mohammed.

President Tinubu is scheduled to return to Nigeria following the summit’s conclusion.
