Vice President Kashim Shettima has called on the people of Ondo State to re-elect Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and his running mate, Dr. Olayide Adelami, in the upcoming governorship election on November 16.

Speaking at the All Progressives Congress (APC) rally at MKO Abiola Democracy Park in Akure on Wednesday, Shettima emphasized that Ondo’s future hinges on this election.

“This is more than just a decision between two candidates,” Shettima said. “It’s a choice between progress and stagnation, unity and division. Ondo deserves a governor with the experience, compassion, and strength to push our state forward. Let’s secure Ondo’s future together by voting APC and re-electing Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.”

The Vice President conveyed President Bola Tinubu’s endorsement of the Aiyedatiwa-Adelami ticket, explaining that while the president was attending a summit abroad, he was “fully supportive of Aiyedatiwa and Adelami as torchbearers for prosperity in Ondo.”

Shettima urged the electorate to “look past the distractions and noise” and focus on the “integrity and stability” APC has consistently delivered to Ondo. Highlighting the administration’s efforts in economic development, he noted that some of the benefits may not be immediately apparent but are building blocks for a brighter future in Ondo.

Governor Aiyedatiwa also addressed the rally, expressing his appreciation for the support and paying tribute to the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, who he said had always believed in his leadership. Aiyedatiwa pledged to continue advancing the developmental progress achieved in Ondo under Akeredolu’s tenure.

The APC’s campaign received a further boost as several high-profile leaders—including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and other prominent governors—attended the rally to rally support for Aiyedatiwa and the APC in Ondo.
