Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, issued a statement on December 23, 2024, announcing his donation of N10 million to the College of Nursing Sciences, Mbano, Imo State.

This contribution aligns with his commitment to national development through investment in health and education.

Obi expressed his delight at the institution’s growth from a School of Nursing to a College of Nursing Sciences, now producing well-trained nurses and midwives for society. He is confident that his contribution will significantly aid the college’s continued development.

In these challenging times, Obi emphasized the importance of supporting educational and health institutions, which are central to national development. He reiterated his call for increased government funding for these critical sectors, rather than indulging in selfish excesses.

Obi highlighted that more funding for education and health will drive national development and help raise an educated and healthy population, contributing to the nation’s shift from consumption to production. He expressed his appreciation for everyone who has contributed to improving the education and health sectors.

Obi concluded by affirming that collective efforts in building a better nation will lead to the New Nigeria that everyone deserves.
