Former governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of not being transparent with Nigerians about the true state of the country and his administration.

Lamido, a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), also criticized former President Muhammadu Buhari for similar reasons.

Speaking on the BBC Hausa service program ‘Gane Mini Hanya,’ Lamido claimed that both administrations prioritized propaganda over transparency, unlike the PDP era, which he described as open and transparent.

“But with the coming of Buhari, deception and propaganda became tools for running the government,” Lamido stated.

He also criticized President Tinubu’s loan requests, arguing that the government’s actions do not align with its statements. Lamido questioned how the government could budget N30 trillion, generate N50 trillion, and still request loans despite having a surplus of N20 trillion, referencing last year’s budget.

“This recklessness and clear-cut selfishness is not done anywhere in the world, but yet you find some Nigerians supporting it. Visit social media and see how APC is being criticized, being referred to as a calamity, yet you find some protecting it,” Lamido added.
