The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has extended his congratulations to John Azuta-Mbata on his election as the new President-General of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo on Friday, January 10.
Fubara hailed Azuta-Mbata’s victory as a testament to the people’s confidence in his ability to meet their expectations for the Igbo socio-political group.
In a statement issued by Nelson Chukwudi, the governor’s chief press secretary, Fubara expressed that Azuta-Mbata’s win signifies broad acceptance as a dedicated Nigerian whose character and integrity are exemplary.
He further noted that the members of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo have demonstrated their trust in Azuta-Mbata through their votes.
Emphasizing the importance of national cohesion, Fubara urged Azuta-Mbata to remain committed to his responsibilities as the new President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.
“On behalf of the government and the good people of Rivers State, I once again congratulate you and assure you of our readiness to work with you towards maintaining and preserving national unity and cohesion,” Fubara stated.
