A day after the burial of former President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Kashim Shettima, acting upon the directive of President Bola Tinubu, is leading a high-profile delegation to Daura to pay tribute through prayers in honour of the late leader.

According to a statement from his media aide, Stanley Nkwocha, the delegation includes several key government figures and mourners, notably the governors of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum, and Katsina State, Dikko Umar Radda.

The group is scheduled to hold a third-day prayer service on Friday at the late President Buhari’s residence in Daura.

This visit highlights the enduring respect and reverence afforded to the former President by Nigeria’s current leadership and reflects the nation’s collective mourning and honouring of Buhari’s legacy.
