Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, has commended the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for appointing a new wave of young leaders to its National Working Committee, calling it a bold and commendable step toward genuine youth inclusion in politics.

In a message posted on his X (formerly Twitter) handle @atiku, the seasoned politician congratulated several young appointees, including:

  • Bilyaminu Duhu – Assistant National Youth Leader, North East
  • Jackie Wayas [@JWEZEE] – Deputy National Publicity Secretary
  • Hassana Dada – Assistant National Youth Leader, North Central
  • David Itokpa [@iamhistory_] – Deputy National Welfare Secretary
  • Hauwa Yusuf [@itz_hawee] – Deputy National Secretary and other vibrant young members recently appointed to key positions within the party’s structure.

Atiku praised the ADC for moving beyond rhetoric to real action when it comes to empowering the youth. He remarked, “The @ADCNig is no longer just speaking about youth inclusion; it is now boldly demonstrating it in action.”

He emphasized that young people should be actively involved in shaping the future, not sidelined from crucial decision-making processes. “The future of our youth must not be shaped in their absence,” he added, applauding the ADC for offering young Nigerians a place at the table.

In closing, Atiku stated, “This is what true leadership looks like not just talking the talk, but walking it with purpose.”

The recognition highlights growing momentum for youth inclusion in Nigeria’s political landscape, with parties like ADC setting an example for others to follow.
