A shocking viral video circulating on social media has revealed a brutal execution carried out by Biafran militant Ifeanyi Eze, also known as “Gentle Yahoo.”
In the footage, Gentle Yahoo is seen accusing three of his own men of betrayal and then executing them for allegedly using his “Igwe” title to rob civilians an act he claims was against his direct orders.
The incident reportedly took place in the Aku community, with the militant vowing to eliminate anyone who challenges his authority there. His operations are believed to be centered around the Okigwe and Orlu axis of Imo State regions that have seen escalating violence between separatist groups, government forces, and criminal elements.
Gentle Yahoo was the former second-in-command to the late Ikonso, a commander of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), the paramilitary armed wing of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). The ESN and IPOB have long been associated with violence, the Biafra separatist movement led by Nnamdi Kanu, who is currently in Nigerian government detention is facing terrorism-related charges.
Meanwhile, another high-profile figure in the movement, Simon Ekpa, who claimed leadership of the IPOB military wing following Kanu’s detention, is also being held in a Finnish prison. Ekpa has long been accused by Nigerian authorities of inciting violence in the South-East from abroad through social media and coordinated sit-at-home orders, often enforced with deadly consequences.
The execution video has intensified concerns about rising internal rifts within the separatist factions, as well as the increasing brutality among militant leaders. Security analysts warn that the lack of centralized command and competing loyalties may lead to further bloodshed, both among militants and innocent civilians in the region.
As of now, there has been no official statement from Nigerian authorities or the Finnish government regarding the latest developments.
