New videos are going round on social media with big claims against Seyi Tinubu. They say the son of President Bola Tinubu paid Nigerians who live in the UK to come out and show support for his father during the state visit to Britain.
The visit took place in the middle of March 2026 and included meetings with King Charles at Windsor Castle.
According to the videos people got five hundred pounds each, which is close to nine hundred thousand naira. Some sources say it was five hundred pounds one day and two hundred pounds the next. They also handed out shirts from the APC party.
One woman who went with an APC friend recorded the money being shared and sent it to bloggers. The man who made the main video first apologized to the Nigerians in UK. He had blamed them earlier for welcoming the president. Now he says he understands because who would say no to that amount of money.
The videos claim this was done to create the look of big crowds cheering and singing songs for the president. Many see it as buying support for propaganda and a waste of funds. Reactions online are hot. Some people are very angry and call it shameful. Others say the people just collected what was offered to them. The story started from a post by radiogad and quickly spread everywhere.
As of today Seyi Tinubu and the government have not given any reply to these accusations.
