A fresh interview clip from DCL Hausa is spreading fast online. In the audio Nafiu Bala the self-acclaimed faction leader of the ADC states that the Supreme Court declared him the national chairman of the ADC party. The journalist immediately fires back asking, “Do you really understand what the Supreme Court justices actually said.
The Supreme Court decision at the center of the controversy addressed a preservative order earlier issued by the Court of Appeal. The apex court ruled that the order was wrongly made because it came after proceedings at that level had already been concluded. As a result, the court nullified the directive, stating that it could not legally stand.
With the status quo order vacated, INEC has restored the David Mark-led National Working Committee on its records.
By setting aside that order, the Supreme Court effectively removed the legal obstacle that had prompted INEC to previously withdraw recognition from the executive group led by David Mark. With that barrier gone, INEC has now reinstated the David Mark led National Working Committee in its official records, restoring its status as the recognized leadership of the party.
Despite this clear administrative outcome, Nafiu Bala continues to interpret the ruling as validation of his own leadership claim, a position that has drawn immediate scrutiny and pushback, especially in light of the court’s actual findings and INEC’s updated recognition.
